Gecon2008 - 5th International Workshop on Grid Economics and Business Models
This workshop invites researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to present current results and original research in the area of Grid economics. The purpose of this workshop is to suggest future directions of research and amendments to existing technologies, aiming at the successful deployment of a global, commercial service-oriented Grid system. In addition to this, the workshop will feature an industry session in order to increase the knowledge transfer between the academia and industry. Speakers of major utility computing providers are expected, describing the state-of-the-art in “computing on demand” and the customer acceptance of the shift from “buying resources”. The workshop will focus on the interdisciplinary research in the area of IT infrastructure and economics. In particular, the topics of interest are (but not limited to):
